Indiescififantasy came into being in 2014 (along with several other side projects). I had an idea to help indie authors on the journey to success, and while I may have achieved that goal in some areas, it has been severely lacking in others. Over the next few weeks, I will be making some changes to this website, moving content over from others (and ultimately deleting them) with a view to pooling together everything I have learned over the past four years. My aim is to offer a ‘one-stop’ website, sharing my advice and experience from the inkling of a story idea through to marketing your finished book and beyond.

For those of you that don’t know me, I am a freelance (developmental) editor of science fiction and fantasy, trading as ‘Michelle Dunbar Editing Services‘. I am utterly obsessed with all things SFF, and have been for several decades (I grew up on a diet of Flash Gordon, Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica etc – 80’s TV at its best). I have been involved in many a writing group (mainly lurking), read heavily to improve my knowledge, and of recent, started my own publishing company.

The time to assess my business dealings is long overdue, so please bear with me while I pool everything together in what I hope will become an informative website that holds a measure of value to new and experienced authors alike.

In the meantime, please do sign up for our brand new, GDPR friendly newsletter, and if you are an author willing to engage in guest posts, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at michelle AT indiescififantasy.com (and wish me luck because this is a huge project, for me anyway).
